Mr. Tariq Ikram, with a diverse academic background of Sciences, Literature, British & American
Histories, and International Affairs, is a highly accomplished Pakistani business leader and former
Minister of State Government of Pakistan. Mr. Ikram is currently Chairman of Alpha Insurance company,
Member Board of Karachi Council of Foreign Affairs, Managing Trustee of the Board of Trustees of Tasha
Trust, an Independent Director on Boards of Berger Paints and Excel-Lab and Tasha Enterprises Pvt Ltd.
Mr. Ikram began his career with Reckitt Benckiser, and rapidly climbed the corporate ladder to become
CEO at the age of 37 and Regional Head a few years later. During his tenure, the company experienced
compound growth of 22%pa. Mr. Ikram was also President of the OICC&I, Marketing and Management
Associations and founder President of Pakistan Advertisers Society and the Pakistan Research Society.
Known for his integrity, analytical and strategic skills, he has served on numerous boards, both Public
and Private sector enterprises, both within and internationally. Mr. Ikram's achievements include
developing and implementing the first ever export Strategy of Pakistan raising exports from USD 7.8 Bn
in 2000 to over USD 20 Bn in 2008, a 147% increase and spearheading the restructuring of the Export
Promotion Bureau to the present TDAP. For his contribution he was awarded Sitara I Imtiaz by the
President of Pakistan and was honorably mentioned in his book ‘In the Line of Fire’ He is currently
involved in corporate directorships, teaching, and philanthropic endeavors, including his role as
Chairman of Saiya Homes, an orphanage in Pakistan.
